Why is cellular respiration in plants higher in room temperature, while lower in colder temperature? - which one has a higher respiration rate, a mammal or a reptile

I had a biology lab in which this measure is the amount of CO2 through the peas in cold weather and temperature used. and temperature as CO2 consumed faster than the cold.

low temperature of about 1 degree C

Why is this so?
